How to use Some, Any.
Some
Some is used
with the plural form of countable nouns, and with uncountable nouns. A pen,
some pens/countable noun, plural.
For example:
When we are
offering something. Would you like
some milk?
When we are
asking for something. Can I borrow some
money?
When we are
suggesting something. Why don´t we rent some movies to watch tonight?
Why don´t you
give her some advice?
Any
We use any
with the plural form of countable nouns, and with uncountable nouns. A pen, any
pens. Pens: plural countable noun. Any water . water: uncountable noun.
Any is used
in questions:
Do you know
any famous people?
Do you have
any children?
Have you got
any cheese?
Have you got
any friends?
Any is used
in negative sentences:
He hasn´t got
any cheese.
He hasn´t got
any friends in Chicago.
